Recent Updates to our Weather Site include:

- Access to our monthly database reports from 2006 onwards, find them under the ‘historical’ menu section.
For example “Monthly Reports 2010”

- Additional Rainfall and Solar analysis showing YTD vs average & previous year. These are embedded Excel spreadsheets.
Find them under the ‘analysis’ menu section. For Example “Rainfall Extra”

- We have also started supplying data to the Met Office website.
Whilst their service is still in beta & so you can expect a few hiccups, it’s still worth a look.

I hope this new functionality is of interest to some of our visitors. I’m sure I’ll find more to add later

Just a note to say that I’ve been carrying out a move to new and faster off-site servers during the last 24 hours.

This will bring several benefits:

• Faster page downloads for visitors
• Continued access to website if (and when!) a storm takes out my power & ADSL.
• Possibility to expand the site further in the future

There are also a few down sides, mainly that I’m having to redesign a few pages and that some of the addresses will have to change.

I’m currently undertaking a significant rebuild of the website; changing the admin software. This will likely carry on throughout September ’08 as time allows.

I hope the result will be quicker loading for you & easier to maintain for me
