The beginning of February brought some very cold conditions to the country – in particular to England and Wales – due to the Siberian High bringing icy air from eastern Europe. As the high weakened, the winds swung around to the northwest, allowing a milder and often more changeable pattern to take hold. As we head through the end of February and into the meteorological spring, we continue in a broadly similar theme with the weather often turning quite unsettled but tending to be mild – and this week getting us off to an impressive start temperature-wise.
